I’m still focusing on adding light and dark tones, but this process is a bit disorienting, because I can feel that I’m going to have to go back and layer on more darks later on. So, I plow ahead, getting my soft 4H graphite pencil to fill in the rest of Baby’s body. Then it’s just patiently blending with my white paper blending stump (or tortillon, which sounds so much prettier), getting the tones as close as possible to where I want them to be. I’m thinking that the pencil just gets me started, while the real art making begins when I set it aside and start to blend the pencil strokes. I’ve got a long way to go on this drawing journey.
A Bit Disoriented
