Cautiously Finding Color

It’s liberating working in color.  But, I still intend to go slow, layer and correct along the way.  The biggest challenge as I begin is creating accurate color matches to the photo.  I think I won’t worry too much about exact matches.  I’m trying layering color pencils to get just the right (or closest) hues.  I’ve got a long, long way to go.  I’m most fascinated by the yolk of the hard-boiled egg.  And the red of the skin of the sliced radishes.

Color pencil is trickier than pure graphite. I will try to feel free and maybe less constrained than when I am drawing in black and white.
