Magnolias a la Charles Reid

Magnolias a la Charles ReidThe great thing about doing a watercolor like this one is that I can define the white magnolias by framing them with green leaves painted using varying values and in varying hues of green, leaving the framed white flowers as the white of the paper.  A watery wash gives a mere hint of the off-white aspects of some of the flowers’ petals.  Charles Reid, again, thanks for the inspiration.
